ArcelorMittal Signs Health & Safety Agreement
India. World’s largest steelmaker ArcelorMittal today announced that it has joined hands with trade unions representing its employees across the globe to improve health and safety standards in the company.
This comes within days of the mishap in ArcelorMittal’s Tentekskaya mine in Kazakhstan in which five miners were feared dead. ArcelorMittal said the ground-breaking global agreement was signed yesterday with trade unions namely European Metalworkers’ Federation, United Steelworkers and International Metalworkers’ Federation on occupational health and safety.

USA. Independent laboratory sample tests of carpets installed in the EPA’s offices, killed mice after three hours of exposure. Building Managers installed resin-filled carpeting which never completely cured.
