AUDITING SESSIONS:

The Auditing Sessions is a unique Advantage ACT service designed to provide the candidate with an opportunity to accumulate  the  required auditing  hours  in  the  presence  of a SAATCA Lead Auditor towards becoming a registered auditor (OHSAS18001, ISO9001 or ISO14001) with an auditing body.

This 5-day session provides candidates with the opportunity to visit and practice their auditing skills at a different site every day.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

To equip candidates with auditing experience to generate enough hours to register with an auditing body as an auditor, lead auditor or subject specialist.

120 auditing hours in the presence of a lead auditor is normally required as a prerequisite before an individual may apply for registration with an auditors association.

COURSE OUTCOMES

At the end of this session, with the use of the ISO19011 and the choice of ISO9001, ISO14001 or OHSAS18001 standards, the candidate will be able to:

• Apply his/her existing theoretical auditing knowledge in practice on actual sites.
• Gain experience in opening meetings.
• Gain experience in physical walk-throughs of sites and the conduct of an auditor during this phase.
• Experience how to do document control.
• Experience how to ask the correct questions and delve deeper to find objective evidence.
• Experience how to generate actual non-conformances.
• Experience where to allocate non-conformances.
• Experience how to transfer non-conformances onto the non-conformance matrix.
• Participate in daily exit meetings.
• Gain experience in conducting final close-out meetings.
• Compile audit reports.
• Generate a set of 30 auditing hours in the presence of a Lead auditor per auditing session week.

AUDIT LOG SHEET

Your audit log sheet will be signed by a SAATCA Lead auditor.  It will be possible to accumilate 30 audit hours during a 5-day Audit Session.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

On successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to explain and document structured workplace inspection observations and findings. These will be reported to and evaluated by SH&E Committee members before being submitted to management for corrective action and in accordance with OHS legislation.

The representative is the eyes and the ears of the employees.

Through continual inspections and meetings within the working environment, hazards and risks can be pro-actively identified and rectified towards a safe and healthy workplace.

• Explain the duties and responsibilities of employers, employees, and SHEQ representatives and committees in promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and community.
• Discuss the general hazard management steps that should be included in company inspections, evaluations and reporting systems.
• Identify workplace hazards in the context of your workplace and evaluate your conformance to legislated standards.
• Record deviations and make recommendations for corrective actions.

To equip delegates with international guideline knowledge and skill towards becoming a lead auditor within the Integrated SHEQ auditing discipline.

COURSE AIM

Learners who achieve accreditation for this module are able to fulfill legal compliance requirements & participate in or lead an incident investigation procedure in the workplace. They will be able to collect evidence, identify the basic & root causes of incidents, document findings, complete necessary records & legal compliance reports, & propose effective recommendations to prevent a future recurrence.
