Construction Workers Killed

Two construction workers were killed when they were hit by a truck near Port Alfred on Monday, Eastern Cape police said.

One worker died on the scene, on the R52 highway, while the other was taken to hospital before succumbing to his injuries, Captain Mali Govender said.

The 56-year old truck driver was charged with culpable homicide.

The two workers were putting up road signs at midday when the accident occurred.
