Contract Worker Killed In Flash Fire

Malawi. Paladin Energy Ltd has reported that one of the three contract workers injured at their Kayelekera uranium project site on the 16th of March, has died.

The Kayelereka uranium project site is located in Malawi’s nothern border district of Karonga.

The three men were injured when solvent cleaning fluid used in a steel tank was ignited by an external source, causing a flash fire.

The men were flown to South Africa for burns treatment where one subcontractor, aged 20, died in hospital and the other two men, aged 29 and 36, remain in stable condition.
