New Round Of Inspections By Labour

August 3rd, 2009

South Africa. Agriculture and steel sector employers served with contravention notices a few weeks ago faced a new round of inspections, the Labour department said yesterday.

The inspections were to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as with other areas of non-compliance, chief inspector Thobile Lamati said.

This latest round of inspections comes in the wake of visits to employers in the construction sector, which revealed a high degree of non-compliance.
