SHEBA Course

September 13th, 2010

COURSE DATE: 13-25 September 2010

THIS COURSE

Advantage ACT’s next SHEBA Course (Safety, Health and Environmental Business Administration) will be held from 13-17 September 2010 (Week 1) and 11-15 October 2010 (Week 2).

COURSE AIM

We talk of “competence”, but how do we define it. Competent people are not only knowledgeable – they work hard at mastering skills until they become reflexive. When this happens, the execution of tasks and responsibilities are always achieved at a consistently high and quality level. Quality delivery means the outcome and output can be measured.

Every SHEBA module is designed to take you beyond performing routine tasks in a routine manner. This course provides in depth information to enable you to go beyond average delivery.

You will gain the insights needed to manage your area at higher performance levels. You will be equipped to negotiate and motivate your needs along with other senior managers.

The knowledge and skills gained will give you’re the assurance to plan, prepare and monitor all legal, human, financial and operational relationships within the SHEQ discipline, and motivate their inter-relationship benefits across all disciplines in the organisation.

COURSE MODULES

  • QMS & SHEQ Auditing Systems
  • Legislation
  • Contractor agreements & compliance
  • Corporate governance & Carbon credit trading
  • Strategic & Business planning
  • Personal development & Goal setting
  • Training analysis and ROI
  • Ergonomics
  • Emergency planning and HIRA
  • Integration of elements and contextualisation

UNIQUE COURSE

At the present time this course is unique in the South African market. It aims to add valuable skills to the SHEQ practitioner’s formal training qualifications. It focuses on issues that drive and underpins the integration of SHEQ in organisational business management rather than skills training in task specific areas – for example incident investigations.

Advantage ACT is registered with the Health and Welfare SETA as an accredited provider. This assures learners that all learning programme delivery, assessment and administration criteria meet stringent SAQA guidelines and standards. Application to the HWSETA has been made to accredit the course itself as an “enterprise standard”.
