South African national standards (SANS) drafts published for public comment are available in electronic format, free of charge from the SABS, subject to an online requisition form.
Persons, companies or organisations have to name the title of the draft required, and disclose name, surname, e-mail address, telephone number, name of company or organisation, postal address, reason why the draft is required, SABS Commercial client status, and industrial sector.
Requests for draft standards in paper format must follow the same requisition process. The cost of draft standards in hardcopy format is R250 plus VAT and postage. The price is subject to the annual adjustment.
