IPMA Poland is engaged in activities aimed at shaping attitudes and building awareness in the area of project management in children and adolescents. It conducts trainings and workshops in partnership with two institutions: It is supported by the Children’s University of Economics and the Academy of Young Economist, as well as by volunteers from the Project Management Club in Szczecin, supported by Young Crew Poland.
The Children’s University of Economics (EUD) has been operating as a nationwide university since September 2009. The aim of the project is to popularise knowledge and build economic awareness among children from an early age.
The Academy of Young Economist (AME) is a program of economic education for junior high school students, run by the Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Studies together with local partners: The Program is run by the Warsaw School of Economics, the University of Economics in Katowice, Poznań and Wrocław as well as the Universities of Białystok, Szczecin and Łódź.
Classes include both training blocks and workshops. After each class children and teenagers receive an IPMA-Kids or IPMA-Junior certificate, depending on their age group. The certificates are an important confirmation of workshop completion and their competence in project management for the participants.
The first IPMA-Junior certificates were issued on 1 December 2016 after the workshop “Project Management” held at AME in Szczecin. On March 1, 2017, the first IPMA-Kids certificates for grades 1-3 of primary school were issued.
So far 810 IPMA-Junior certificates and 39 IPMA-Kids certificates have been issued.
