Sheqafrica Consulting opens in South Africa has officially opened its consulting services in South Africa on 8 April 2019, offering its clients a portfolio of services in Safety management, Occupational Health and Environmental management.

The company, Sheqafrica Consulting (Pty)Ltd is an independent business founded after one of’s shareholders, Africa Media, sold its South African edition to a group of SA Sheqpractitioners.

Sheqafrica Consulting offers its services to all industries, from SMME’s to Corporates, and have already established a footprint in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Richards Bay and Pretoria.

The company plans to offer affordable market related services via its team of consultants holding a minimum level of competency designated by SAIOSH as Technical or Graduate members.

Market related services

Employers can contract for services on a fixed rate per month, or utilise the ad-hoc services from as little as R450 per hour.
One of the company’s directors, and majority shareholder, Nitesh Amersi, told that “they are extremely excited about the new direction as the need for additional services in Africa, like Disaster management, and Fire and Rescue management services are vital in the modern business world.” These services will be added to the current service portfolio offered.

Experienced professionals

The executive team of Sheqafrica Consulting is made up of Nitesh Amersi, Cheslyn Koopman, and John Williams, all of whom are experienced practitioners supported by a team of Consulting partners and associate consultants.
Practitioners wanting to join the Sheqafrica Consulting team are invited to get in touch with our Onboarding managers, who will explain the minimum requirements and the process going forward to become a Sheqafrica Consultant. We currently offer two options”, Amersi explained. “The first being an associate consultant, and the second is a Consulting Partner. More information is also available on our website.

Some of the services offered by Sheqafrica Consulting include:

  • General EHS services
  • Industry Specific EHS Services
  • EHS Legal Services
  • Occupational Health & Medical Services wanted to know why Quality management isn’t part of the package. Amersi explained: “We invited Quality practitioners to join our team, but had no interest. Most of us already have ISO related qualifications for OHS and Environmental Management and ISO9001, which is the quality standard. There is no need to offer it as a separate service as quality is an over-arching management system. Another reason is that both the OHS and Enviro-standards are linked to legal requirements, whereas quality management is more voluntary in nature.
